PRESS

  • “Carolyn Dobbin's Witch was a camp, unloving character who gleefully splashed culinary ingredients around in her white chefs outfit. Her performance of the Witches aria was superb and deservedly greeted with enthusiastic applause.”

    Seen and Heard

  • “Carolyn Dobbin's Witch emphasised the fun over the sinister with brilliant comic effect. Coy and coquettish, she sang mincingly of roast child. With a knowing wink to the audience, she spread kerosene on the fire before taking a sly slug herself.”

    Bachtrack

  • “Carolyn Dobbin was excellent as Smeaton.”

    Rupert Christiansen, Daily Telegraph

  • “Carolyn Dobbin’s lovely mezzo was perfect for Mary”

    Opera Magazine

  • “Carolyn has a warm stunning sound too, her acting was completely convincing at every moment. I just wish she had more to do though I’m grateful that the director gave her more ways to have stage time than is usual.”

    Plays to See

  • “But Carolyn Dobbin’s Mary has the most beautiful voice: a brief but delicious encounter for the ear.”
