Soprano Sarah Marie Kramer has been described as ‘an outstanding artist’ by Austrian Radio (ORF). She is fast establishing herself as a formidable talent on the operatic stage, following performances as Sieglinde/Die Walküre, Ottavia/ L’incorinazione di Poppea, Countessa/Le Nozze di Figaro, and Amelia/Un Ballo in Maschera.
Sarah Marie has appeared under the direction of Friedemann Layer, Richard Egarr, Masaaki Suzuki, Reinbert de Leeuw, Anthony Negus and Thomas Rösner, among others. At the Bayreuth Festival, she was one of four singers chosen as a Meisterkurs singer in 2018. Her international festival appearances include Longborough Festival Opera, Aldeburgh Festival and the Oxford Lieder Festival. In 2020, Sarah Marie debuted at Vienna’s Schönberg Centre. Upcoming debuts include the Vienna Musikverein, and Vienna’s MuTh Konzertsaal der Wiener Sängerknaben. Wagnerian role debuts include Sieglinde (2021, 2022, 2024), Isolde (2023), plus Beethoven’s Leonore (2021, 2022).
Sarah Marie earned her Bachelor and Master of Music degrees at the Koninklijk Conservatorium in Den Haag, the Netherlands. She was a semi-finalist in the prestigious Lauritz Melchior International Singing Competition for young Wagnerians, and Munich’s International Richard Strauss Wettbewerb.
2022 will mark the release of Sarah Marie’s debut CD of Wagner and Strauss orchestral Lieder with the Dresden Chamber Soloists from the Staatskapelle Dresden.
