“Under Julian Clayton’s direction the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra was in full flow ….. a programme that hit the spot – slick, tuneful, bright and breezy, and well played to boot.” The Scotsman

Julian Clayton is one of the most dynamic and exciting British conductors on the concert platform today. His extensive repertoire of classical, opera, choral and ballet scores is complemented by his skills as a pops conductor and as a presenter and by his enviable reputation as a music educator.

Following an early career as a violinist he made his professional debut as a conductor with London Festival Ballet, conducting an extensive series of Swan Lake at London’s Royal Festival Hall.
