Andreas Wolf went through a classical theater career and today is what one calls a German Kapellmeister.
After his Abitur, he studied first electrical engineering, mathematics and physics before he decided to devote himself entirely to music. He studied conducting with Prof. Hermann Michael in Munich and finished his studies with the master class diploma. He also studied singing with Prof. Loibl. and received his pianist training with Prof. Gitti Pirner.
After a first engagement at the Schillertheater NRW Wuppertal as a Solorepetitor mit Dirigierverpflichtung, he worked for many years at different theaters such as the State Opera Hanover, the State Theater Kassel or the State Theater Saarbrücken as a Kapellmeister. He is currently kommissarischer Generalmusikdirektor at the Lübeck Theater.
His extensive repertoire in music theater and concert reflects his great experience: from the works of the early and the high baroque, like from Cavalli and Purcell, about the great works of the classical and romantic epoch of Mozart, Verdi, Puccini, up to contemporary works, as i.e. John Adams’ Doctor Atomic.
His musical centre forms beside Mozart and Beethoven the German Hochromantik wirh above all Wagner, Strauss and Bruckner.
In addition, he has a great passion for film music, whose development he continuously tracks. With great joy he conducted many concerts in this genre.
In his career, he has worked with many orchestras in Germany and abroad, such as the Osaka Symphony Orchestra, the Daegu MBC Orchestra or the Staatsoper Hannover Orchestra.
He lives with his wife and his son near Regensburg.
