Armenian-born
Israeli tenor Telman Guzhevsky studied sciences at Tel Aviv University
before undertaking postgraduate vocal studies at Trinity College of
Music where he won the Ricordi Opera Studies Prize, and the Guildhall
School of Music and Drama. He is continuing his studies with
Sally Burgess.
Operatic highlights for 2006 included Rodolfo La Bohème for British Youth Opera in Tuscany with the Southbank Sinfonia, Rodolfo (cover) at the Royal Albert Hall for Raymond Gubbay and Don Ottavio (cover) for British Youth Opera. He has also sung Tybalt Romeo et Juliette (cover) and First Priest/Armed Man (cover), both for British Youth Opera. He will sing Rinuccio Gianni Schicchi for New Israeli Opera in 2007.
While still studying Telman Guzhevsky played Bramble Our Man in Havana by Malcolm Williamson for Trinity College of Music and 2nd Witch Dido & Aeneas for the Guildhall, where he also sang Rodolfo La bohème, Hoffman Tales of Hoffman and Don José Carmen in opera scenes.
Oratorio highlights in the UK have included Uriel in Haydn’s Creation.
