Since making his professional debut in 1993 with the Gordon/Frost Organisation as Assistant Music Director on the Australasian tour of South Pacific, Anthony has worked as Assistant Music Director on Blood Brothers and Ken Hill’s Phantom of the Opera (Australasian tour), Assistant Chorus Master & Italian Language Coach on La Bohème (NBR New Zealand Opera, Wellington), Assistant Conductor & Italian Language Coach on The Barber of Seville (West Australian Opera - Young Artists Development Programme), Associate Music Director on The 2002 Helpmann Awards (the equivalent of the Oliver Awards) and The Wizard of Oz; Co-Music Director on the Australian Premiere Concert Production of Dear World (Opera Australia) and Music Supervisor/Vocal Coach on the Australian Premiere production of Larry Hart’s Sisterella.
Anthony toured Australasia with The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber with Sarah Brightman & Anthony Warlow, toured Australia with The Pirates of Penzance and made his stage debut as Manny (the accompanist) in the Sydney Theatre Company/Essgee Entertainment production of Master Class.
As a Music Director, Anthony’s credits include A Grand Night for Singing (Australian Premiere Production), Chess - The Musical, CATS, Grease, Bye Bye Birdie (concert version), The 2003 & 2004 Helpmann Awards, Orpheus in the Underworld and the West End production of The Lion King (Lyceum Theatre) after having also done the production in Sydney, Melbourne and Shanghai. In June 2008 Anthony was appointed Musical Director for the West End production of The Phantom of the Opera at Her Majesty’s Theatre.
Most recently Anthony made his debut with the British Philharmonic Orchestra at the 2009 Continental Airlines Tower Festival in a concert entitled Classical Extravaganza.
